Build supplies
Build supplies pay for every structure and every repair. Placing a blueprint deducts the menu price; each hammer strike deducts more, which is why a finished piece costs about a third more than the menu says.

Worked example: 1,800 loose units cost $18,000, the same pallet costs $400. Loose units only make sense for the first sandbags before a FOB exists.
